The Boise Farmers Market is Boise's agriculturally based market, a catalyst and incubator for local food-related activities in the region. As we enjoy our best year ever, we are reaching out to our community to join in supporting our future.
It is our continued goal to create a sustainable future by establishing a permanent year-around home for the Boise Farmers Market. And, we have plans and Ideas for serving our community of farmers and eaters even better, while we work diligently to make our future secure.
To facilitate this, we have created the BFM Pollinator Society, an opportunity for individuals and local businesses to participate in the growth of the Boise Farmers Market. The BFM Pollinator Society is a fun way to help BFM reach our goals. Being a BFM Pollinator puts you on the inside with BFM Pollinator Only events, discounts and special perks.
All the funds we raise on #GivingTuesday will support the Sprouts Kids Club and the Boise Farmers Mobile Market.
This year the Sprouts Kid's Club helped over 1,000 Boise area kids learn about healthy food and local agriculture. From veggie tastings to cooking classes to scavenger hunts and more, 60 to 80 kids participated in educational activities each week, all summer.
Sprouts Kids also receive $2 in tokens to spend on fruits and vegetables each week when they check in at the Sprouts Kids table. Some kids save their tokens to buy a container of berries or cherry tomatoes, some kids buy a bunch of carrots each week. Everyone loves a cup 'o' cherries!
The Boise Farmers Mobile Market takes produce purchased at wholesale from the Boise Farmers Market farmers out to our neighborhoods, Monday through Thursday, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The Veggie Van serves everyone with a focus on our neighbors who are less fortunate or who can't make it to the farmers market on Saturday due to physical or transportation issues.
This year our Mobile Market crew distributed over 10,000 pounds of fresh produce and put more than $20,000.00 back in the pockets of area farmers.
We cannot do this good work in our community without the support of donors like you.
Join the Pollinator Society today and help The Boise Farmers Market continue to fulfill our Mission of supporting a regenerative, healthy food and agricultural system by operating a vibrant marketplace featuring locally grown and crafted products. We offer One time and Monthly giving options to fit every budget!
Please note: The Boise Farmers Market is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization. We raise funds through our 501(c)3 non-profit partner, the Treasure Valley Food Coalition. Their EIN is 45-3620811.
