It's time to "Meat Me at the Market" and explore local ranchers and restaurateurs who not only raise and prepare delicious protein (beef, chicken, lamb, pork, etc.), but also use regenerative and practical ranching practices.These practices ensure better stewardship of the land and environment, while providing the highest quality products to serve local customers and supportive businesses.  Lisa and Debby Wilsey of Wilsey Ranch will discuss being founding members of the Boise Farmers Market and the promises that come with best practices and customer trust. Debra Bruner with Little Cow Mountain will explain regenerative ranching and its effects on business and the land. Bittercreek Ale House will speak to the difference in quality when using local protein from trusted sources and their commitment to local.

The Idaho Botanical Garden and Boise Farmers Market are coming together to create something lasting, a permanent, year-round home for the Market rooted in the Garden. This partnership brings together shared values: supporting local agriculture, connecting people to food, and creating meaningful, educational experiences for our community. This month shop for the Brunch Basics with a recipe tied to celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Month! In 2026, the Boise Farmers Market presents a new discussion series "Food for Thought." Presenters and panelists will be individuals and businesses engaged in the local food system and creating a sense of place and community centered on local food and all the issues surrounding it. The event is free and will feature local hors d'oeuvres from Chef Adan Callsen (Under the Table Boise) as well as local drinks.

"Business is Blooming" for the three local speakers at our inaugural Food for Thought program.

Davis McDonald, owner of Sun-Dog Farm, will talk about his journey from commercial flowers to traditional farm to full-time flower farm.

Jackie Sommer, with Purple Sage Farm, will speak to the benefits of edible flowers and the value of using the whole plant.

Erin Anderson, Executive Director Idaho Botanical Garden, will speak to our growing community partnership and exciting happenings at IBG.

This Valentine’s Day, the Boise Farmers Market is excited to partner with the Idaho State Museum to bring you a one-of-a-kind dining experience—Farm to Heart: A Valentine’s Day Dinner. This event will feature a 5-course, farm–to-table dinner by Idaho-native and world-renowned chefs Gina D’Orazio- Stryker of the Wandering Table and Adan Callsen of Under the Table.

Guests are invited to tour the Museum’s galleries while enjoying a glass of wine or beer, engage with local farmers, and learn the rich history of Idaho’s agricultural evolution. Celebrate love and the spirit of the season as you indulge in a thoughtfully crafted menu of locally sourced ingredients, complemented by a captivating musical performance on historical instruments.

Attendees may select either a shared dining experience or a private table for two. The private table for two includes a bottle of wine. Open seating unless you purchase a private table. Doors open at 5PM, and dinner is served 6-8PM.

Tickets are $135 for individuals, $250 per couple, or $350 for a private table. Beginning February 1, pricing increases to $150 for individuals, $275 per couple, and $375 for a private table.

Food allergies and substitution requests must be submitted to events@ishs.idaho.gov no later than February 4, 2026. Any requests made after February 4th will not be accommodated.
